We are seeking to appoint a Technical Specialist in AR/VR/MR in Simulation Based Education within the Faculty of Health Education. The successful candidate will be required to develop technology and the immersive environments within the Brooks Building, on the Birley Campus, Manchester Metropolitan University into sector leading facilities. 

You will join a diverse team of technical staff, taking responsibility for the effective running of the service, supporting learning, teaching, research, outreach and enterprise activities. 

The Role:   

Your primary responsibility will be to support the use of a range of immersive environments, equipment and specialist software in order to develop teaching and research. Having a flexible and innovative approach along with a passion about immerging technology and the development of sector leading facilities within the faculty. The role holder will be required to provide an excellent level of customer service to ensure deadlines are met. 

Other duties will include providing technical advice, training and instruction to service users as part of the technical team. Maintenance, health and safety, administration and the future development of the area will also feature in this role.  

About You:  

As a Technical Specialist you must be self motivated and have the ability to work on your own initiative. You will be expected to participate in internal and external networks and user groups, attending relevant events to keep up to date with the latest developments and techniques and to share information with other team members. Strong communication skills and a commitment to quality service will also play an important role in being successful in this post.
