We're looking for an Assistant Technical Officer – Wardrobe and Stage Management to join our Live Productions Team, supporting the vibrant and dynamic work of the Manchester School of Theatre.
About the team
The Live Productions Team is part of the wider Technical Services department, a diverse group of specialist technicians who support high quality teaching, learning and performance activities across the university. The team provides dedicated technical expertise for the Manchester School of Theatre within the School of English, working across professional theatre and performance spaces in the Grosvenor East Building.

About the role
The Assistant Technical Officer will support the delivery of high-quality theatre productions by assisting Technical Officers across both Wardrobe and Stage Management. The role involves contributing to the preparation, maintenance and operation of wardrobe facilities, costume resources and stage management processes within the Grosvenor East performance spaces.
The post also includes occasional support for wider university events that require live production expertise. You will work closely with colleagues, students and academic staff to ensure safe, smooth and professional production delivery. About the candidate
We are seeking a proactive and skilled individual with practical experience in Theatre Wardrobe and Stage Management. You will have:
familiarity with live performance technologies, including costume/wardrobe equipment, staging systems, rigging and basic workshop tools.
strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to manage their own workload.
a collaborative attitude, commitment to excellent customer service and a willingness to learn and undertake relevant training are essential.
experience in a similar environment
a positive, team focused approach
