We are seeking to appoint an XR Technical Specialist in Simulation-Based Education within the Faculty of Health & Education. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing the use of immersive technologies and digital content within the Brooks Building at our Birley Campus.
You will join a diverse and supportive technical team, contributing to the effective delivery of services that support learning, teaching, research, outreach, and enterprise activities.
Your primary responsibility will be to support and enhance the use of immersive environments, specialist equipment, and software for teaching and research purposes. You will bring a flexible and innovative approach, alongside a passion for emerging technologies and the development of sector-leading facilities within the faculty.
You will also:
Provide technical support, advice, and training to staff and students
Ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of facilities and services
Contribute to maintenance, health and safety, and administrative processes
Support the ongoing development and improvement of the area
Deliver excellent customer service and ensure deadlines are met
As a Technical Officer, you will be self-motivated and capable of working both independently and as part of a team. You will engage with internal and external networks, attending relevant events to stay up to date with emerging technologies and best practice.
