The UK RAS STEPS Special Interest Group Showcase 2026 

The UK RAS STEPS Showcase enters an exciting new chapter in 2026 as we place the spotlight firmly on the heart of our community: our Special Interest Groups (SIGs).

Building on the success of last year’s event at the Science Museum in London, the UK RAS STEPS Special Interest Group Showcase 2026 will take place on 10 June 2026 at the National Robotarium, Heriot-Watt University.

This annual gathering brings together Research Technical Professionals (RTPs) from across Robotics and Autonomous Systems (RAS) to celebrate achievements, exchange learning, and collaborate on future priorities.

Spotlight on Special Interest Groups (SIGs)

In 2026, the focus turns to the dynamic SIGs that have driven so much of the STEPS programme’s progress - from sustainable manufacturing to automation, sensing, and robotics development.

Whether you are already part of a SIG or are curious to get involved, the Showcase will feature updates and insights from groups including:

• Advancing Sustainable 3D Printing Practices

• Automation of Liquid Handling

• AI & Automation

• Manufacturing for and with Robotics

2026 UK RAS STEPS Technical Excellence Awards - Nominations Open

We are also delighted to announce that nominations are now open for the 2026 UK RAS STEPS Technical Excellence Awards - a celebration of outstanding achievement, innovation, and leadership across the UK’s RAS technical community.

The awards will be presented at the Showcase on 10th June 2026, recognising individuals and groups whose contributions have made a significant impact on:

• Collaboration

• Community development
