NEW PATHWAY LAUNCH: NTDC National Education Technical Professional (ETP) Pathway
11 May 2022
The NTDC has welcomed five universities: the University of Exeter, the University of Wolverhampton, London Metropolitan University, the University of Plymouth, and the University of Northumbria, as the latest higher education institutions to join the NTDC as partner affiliates.
Partner affiliation means that these recently joined universities are now part of a national community of technical institutions that are supported by the NTDC with staff training, networking opportunities, and professional development.
Andy Atfield, Senior Technician in biochemistry and toxicology at the University of Plymouth said, “Technician development is crucial in delivering excellent educational and research support.
“As a founding signatory partner of the Technician Commitment we are committed to ensuring we are driving its themes and principles forward. It is an exciting time to be involved in the technical sector and becoming a partner with the NTDC will help us push forward with our new action plan and reach out to the wider technical community.
“We are excited to benefit from the tools and opportunities that our membership will bring, including further empowering technical staff at the University of Plymouth.”
The leadership and staff teams from each newly affiliated university will have the chance to share best practice with several other partners at the NTDC’s annual Partner Forum, taking place on 8 September.
Gail Reeve, former Head of Technical Services at the University of Exeter said, “We are delighted to be joining the NTDC as a partner affiliate.
“This further enhances our ability to support our talented technical workforce and underlines our commitment to the development and future sustainability of technical staff. We’re eager to roll out the resources available from the NTDC!”
