NEW PATHWAY LAUNCH: NTDC National Education Technical Professional (ETP) Pathway
8 September 2021
We’d like to thank everybody who took part in our 2021 Photo Competition. The theme this year was on sustainability. The quality of work was incredibly high this year and choosing a winner was incredibly difficult!
Adelina from the University of Sheffield is our winner! We thought her photo (above) from inside the biOMICS Mass Spectrometry Facility was absolutely brilliant! Her passion for equipment maintenance to ensure sustainability is inspiring and much needed for a greener future.
Here’s what Adelina had to say about the win:
“Winning this competition is a multiple win to me. Because I love what I do at work and it is amazing to have the opportunity to share it, and because I deeply believe that research needs more sustainability and it is important to recognise every little thing that helps towards a better future. Also, I really enjoy photography, and that’s also a win! And last win, because the photo is the result of a creative work with one of the students using the facility, Nelly Berrueta Ramirez, and I love when teamwork is fruitful! I’ll be sharing the voucher with her.”
Mark’s photographs reveal the inside of the Biology Research Workshop where they were producing visors for frontline workers and local NHS staff in 2020. Amazing work and brilliant photographs.
Michael’s very stylish photograph showcases him working on the WOLFE system which looks at developing a direct-write process for high viscosity inks. This technique is designed to optimise production and minimise material wastage. Another fantastic entry.
Thank you again to all our participants and a huge congratulations to our winner and runners-up! We look forward to seeing you for our next photo competition!
