The NTDC Technician Development Fund is an exclusive funding opportunity for our Partner Affiliate institutes to provide technical staff with an opportunity to support innovative technical initiatives.

On 9 August, The NTDC announced their next round of the Technician Development Fund, after a successful first year. The NTDC Technician Development Fund (TDF) is part of our member benefits for Partner Affiliates (PAs).

This year, we have two funding opportunities available.

1. Technicians using digital technology in the post COVID world (£2,500)

Over the period of the COVID-19 pandemic, the technical community has seen a transformation of how teaching and research within our universities and research institutions have been delivered. The NTDC is offering funding to the value of £2,500 (one project fund only) to a technician or group of technical staff to design and develop an initiative which supports the area of digital technology.

2. Promoting technical careers to the next generation (£500)

The NTDC is offering funding to the value of £500 (four separate project funds) to a technician or group of technical staff to design and develop an outreach/public engagement activity, which supports the promotion of technical careers to the next generation, with a particular emphasis on recruiting individuals from BAME backgrounds to technical careers.
