October to December 2025
Small grants to help technicians attend training, job-shadowing, conferences and events - travel and conference fees supported.
Please contact the NTDC team if you’re unsure whether to apply (enquiries@ntdc.ac.uk).
This round supports mobility for technicians — funding to enable technicians to travel to events, training, job-shadowing visits and conferences. The focus is on travel-related costs, with conference/course fees supported where needed.
Typical eligible costs:
Train, coach or other reasonable public-transport fares (tickets, railcards where justified)
Event, training or conference registration fees
Short-term accommodation only where directly required for the funded activity and justified in the application
If costs are uncertain (e.g. variable train fares), provide your best estimate and a short explanation.
Technicians working in relevant roles who need financial help to attend training, events, conferences or job-shadowing opportunities. If you’re unsure whether your request fits this round, contact the NTDC team at any time to discuss your activity and whether applying is worthwhile.
Application windows (submit within these windows only):
01 October 2025 – 08 October 2025
10 November 2025 – 17 November 2025

Applications received inside the application windows will be assessed against eligibility and the round’s theme.
Funding decisions are made after each window closes; successful applicants will be notified and given instructions on how funds will be handled.
Where an event is soon or time-sensitive, the NTDC may book on behalf of the applicant (for example: train tickets or event registrations) to reduce processing time. Applicants should indicate in their application if quick booking is needed.
The NTDC will aim to process straightforward travel bookings quickly, but applicants are encouraged to flag urgent travel and provide event dates.
